I am delighted to welcome you to the Xavier Catholic College website. Xavier Catholic College is a ministry of the Catholic Parish of St Francis Xavier and is a Companion School of Jesuit Education Australia. As a school within the Diocese of Lismore and as a Companion School in JEA, the College enjoys wonderful ongoing support, outstanding spiritual nurturing and guidance, academic and vocational outcomes that are exceptional, strong and supportive Pastoral Care, and enviable networking and fellowship opportunities across our Diocese and Australia.  Since opening in the year 2000 under the leadership of Foundation Principal Mr Eric Littler, enrolment numbers have continued to grow, providing us with regular opportunities to implement new building stages and thus providing excellent, modern, state-of-the-art facilities.

Xavier Catholic College is an active and committed Christian Community in the Catholic tradition and gives emphasis to self-discipline and responsibility, where pastoral care is central to our welfare and discipline structure and is the cornerstone of all our policies.

Since graduating the first HSC class of Year 12 students in 2005, the College has continued to achieve excellent academic and vocational results. Our inaugural graduating class set the standards for the following graduates who also have excellent academic results and also very strong outcomes for students in Vocational Education and Training and career pathways. The outstanding success we achieve in the Higher School Certificate bears testimony to the students, staff and parent community that comprise Xavier Catholic College. Similarly, the strong results in our vocational courses have resulted in school-based traineeships, apprenticeships, national awards and valuable career pathways for many students.

The College offers a broad range of cultural, sporting and community activities that complement and support the mission of the school. Students then are able to engage in a range of activities that will suit their creative, active or service and mission passions, which will enable our community to nurture their growth throughout their time at Xavier Catholic College.

The vital role of parents as the first educators of their children is central to our values at the College. Working in partnership with parents, staff at the College take very seriously this high level of trust placed on our doorstep each day. As such, we ensure that we establish and maintain strong working relationships with our most important partners – you, the parents. We at Xavier Catholic College believe that students will achieve success if the school and parents work in partnership with the students for common goals. Xavier Catholic College aims to be an open and welcoming place not only for the students but also for their parents and the whole community. Parents are always welcome to attend our College assemblies each fortnight, our liturgies and College masses and sporting carnivals and events. We welcome parent volunteers in our Canteen, coaching teams, in supporting cultural performances, on excursions and College trips away. Research shows that the more a parent is actively involved in College life, the greater the chance of success for their children.

At Xavier Catholic College, we not only encourage a positive attitude to learning and a sense of satisfaction at having achieved to the best of one's ability, but we also value respect for people, the staff and the students. We are confident this will be the experience of all families and their students at Xavier Catholic College, and we invite you all to join this wonderful community and the opportunities it offers.
